International Museum of Muslim Cultures, Jackson, MS
Located in the downtown arts and theater district of Jackson, MS, the IMMC is the first and only museum of Islamic history and culture in the United States. The museum space houses an exhibit about Islamic Moorish Spain, a gift shop, and a bookstore. The current exhibit deals with the African and Arab Muslim civilization in Spain that kept knowledge alive during the Dark Ages and later contributed to the European Renaissance.
