Oakland Museum of California has an extensive collection of objects that are not on view. Much of OMCA's collection can be browsed on the Online Collection website.
Virtual Exhibition Websites
Gold Rush! – an online curriculum developed for grades 4, 5, 8, and 11 that draws on the myths and realities of an event that attracted treasure-seekers from all over the world. Additional lessons explore facets of the Gold Rush and its impact on the people and culture of California, from the native population and immigration to slavery and Civil Rights.
Latino History Project – The Latino History Project is a program dedicated to involving youth in collecting and preserving Latino history of the East Bay.
