Recruiting Participants for Forces of Change

What was your life like in California during the '60s and early '70s? How did you participate in and react to the social changes of the time?

Forces of Change, an exhibit in the History Gallery at the Oakland Museum of California, tells the story of California from 1960-1975 through the personal experiences of 24 Californians.

OMCA is currently recruiting new participants who represent the diversity of Californians from across the state. Each participant creates a two foot square exhibit about their life during this tumultuous period from 1960-1975. Forces of Change participants will attend a workshop in late 2013 and will work with museum staff and teaching artists to curate their own case. Participants' cases will open in the gallery in spring 2014 and will be up for 2 years.

Participants will be chosen by October 1, 2013.
