The
Council on Architecture
Founded in 1971,
the Council on Architecture supports the museum and celebrates
its exceptional architecture. Its members are interested in promoting
greater understanding and appreciation of the built environment
through architectural tours, exhibits and lectures.

- Upcoming tours: Houses by Kirk Peterson, architect; Houses

Special Projects

Bimonthly tours featuring the Museum’s architecture
and gardens on the second Sunday of even-numbered months. Meet
at
1 p.m. by the Admissions Desk, second level
- The
Oakland Museum: A Gift of Architecture, a monograph of the
history of the museum building, available in the museum store.
- Oakland
Museum of California pop-up cards designed by Joyce Aysia,
Live Your Dreams Designs, funded by the COA and available in
the museum store.

Membership
We hold monthly evening meetings, a holiday party, and an annual
retreat at The Sea Ranch. Members of the museum interested
in architecture and associated design fields are welcome to
join. Dues are $20/year, payable to The Oakland Museum/COA.
