Art Guild
The Art Guild supports the museum’s Art Department through fundraising, service, education, and outreach. The Guild’s programs include art-related trips to destinations throughout the U.S. and abroad, and day tours with curators to Bay Area art venues. Guild volunteers publish a bimonthly newsletter, help maintain the art research library, staff the Art Department’s volunteer desk, and work with curators to plan exhibition openings and other special events.

Programs
The Guild offers programs that provide access to the art world to members, their guests, and the public.

Out-of-town trips focused on art and architecture
Day tours to artists' studios and private collections, other museums and galleries
Lectures by artists, collectors, curators, and gallery owners.
Receptions to celebrate the opening of Oakland Museum art exhibitions.

In 2006, the Guild offered 9 out-of-town trips and 14 day tours. Trips are announced first in the Art Guild newsletter (published five times a year) or in special mailings to the Art Guild membership. Out-of-town trips are available to members of both the Art Guild and the museum. Day tours are open to members and the public.

Please check out our popular Out-of-Town-Trips and Day Tours.
