Seeks Volunteer Hosts for Student Tours
Like kids? The Oakland Museum of California is looking for volunteer hosts for spring 2007. Hosts are needed to handle an expected increase in elementary student tours from March through June, and must be available for a minimum of eight weekday shifts (9:30 a.m.–noon) during these months. Hosts will greet and orient unscheduled school groups on tours of the Art, History, or Natural Sciences galleries. No previous experience required, but hosts should have an enthusiasm for working with school groups in a museum setting. Five fun and informative training sessions with museum professionals and experienced hosts will begin on Tuesday afternoon, February 13, from 1 to 4 p.m., at the museum. The sessions continue on Tuesdays, February 20 and 27; Monday, March 5; and Wednesday, March 13. All trainings are 1 to 4 p.m. For more information please contact the Oakland Museum of California
