The Oakland
Museum of California is located in downtown Oakland, one block
from
the Lake Merritt BART station and a few blocks from highway 880.

Parking is available in our underground garage, or you can park
in the lot located at the Kaiser Events Center next to the museum

We
have gift certificates available that are good towards museum membership!

may be purchased or picked up during normal museum hours.

is permitted in the permanent galleries. Photography is prohibited
in temporary exhibitions. And, of course, our amazing koi pond,
gardens, and terraces are always “ready for their close-ups!” |

The Oakland Museum of California is accessible to wheelchair
users, and a limited number of wheelchairs are available
at the admissions desk (level 2) on a first-come, first-served
basis. There are accessible restrooms and telephones on level
1 and level 2. Elevators service all three floors and public
areas are accessible. Sign-language tours for exhibitions
and galleries and tours for visually impaired visitors are
provided with advance notice through the Docent office (510/238-3514).
Sign-language interpretation is provided for many family
programs. Assistive listening devices for lectures and docent
tours are available through admissions. A TTY for visitor
use is located in the hallway outside the restaurant (level
2). The museum is accessible through our parking garage on
Oak Street between 10th and 12th. There are handicapped spaces
and a ramp into the museum. Please note the vertical clearance
of the garage is 6'8". For those traveling via public
transit or using street access, there is a ramp on 10th Street,
south of the 10th Street entrance. If you have any questions,

Rates
Only schools and non-profit organizations qualify for the group
rate. Groups must include at least
10 people and purchase
all
of the
tickets
at the
same
time.
Please note
that proof of location is required. To verify status as a school
or nonprofit groups, please bring letterhead from the organization.
Alert: Due
to limited space as a result of gallery renovations, all self-guided
tours must now be scheduled through the Docent Office, 510/238-3514.
